A Pathway on the Rise

High Earning Potential

Careers in the healthcare field tend to have higher earning potential. According to ZipRecruiter, the national average salary of a physical therapist is $91,320 per year. Education, experience, and location may impact this number. There is also an opportunity for higher earnings by pursuing a specialty or additional training. Potential specialties include sports, pediatric or geriatric, neurology, or oncology.

Growing Demand and Job Security

The need for therapists is only growing, partly due to longer life expectancies and aging baby boomers. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of physical therapists is projected to grow 15 percent from 2022 to 2032. There are about 13,900 projected job openings for physical therapists each year. Because of the growing demand, job security is almost a given.
